pioneer town
Early western settlement
A pioneer town is a settlement established during the early expansion into a frontier region, typically characterized by rough construction, limited amenities, and a small population of settlers.
The term also refers to tourist attractions or film sets recreating such settlements: We visited a pioneer town with a general store and blacksmith shop.
These reconstructions feature wooden boardwalks, saloons, and other Old West staples.
