picture show
Film at theater
Picture show is an old-fashioned or regional term for a movie or movie theater.
The phrase dates from early cinema, when moving pictures were still a novelty: We're going to the picture show tonight.
It survives mainly in Southern American English and in nostalgic or period contexts.
