picklock

Opens locks illegally

A picklock is a tool designed to open locks without the proper key, or a person skilled at using such tools.

The word carries connotations of burglary and illicit entry: The detective found a set of picklocks in the suspect's pocket.

As a verb, to picklock is to open a lock this way, though "pick the lock" is more common.
