permalinks
Unchanging web addresses
Permalinks are permanent URLs designed to remain stable over time.
The term combines "permanent" and "link"—web addresses that won't change or break as a website reorganizes its content.
Blog platforms and content management systems generate permalinks automatically: Each post gets its own permalink.
The concept matters for citation and archiving, since a good permalink lets you reference content years later without finding a dead link.
