peg out
Finish the game
Peg out means to die or collapse from exhaustion.
The phrase comes from cribbage, where pegging out ends the game by reaching the final hole on the board.
Outside the game, it's informal and often British: The old dog finally pegged out last winter.
To peg out laundry is to hang it on a clothesline using pegs.
