ped

On foot, briefly

Ped is informal shorthand for pedestrian, especially in traffic contexts: ped crossing, ped traffic.

In American slang, ped is also short for pedophile, particularly in law enforcement and news reporting: a registered ped, the ped unit.

Context usually makes the meaning clear.
