paving stone

Flat garden block

A paving stone is a flat piece of stone, concrete, or brick used to cover walkways, patios, or driveways.

Unlike poured concrete, paving stones are individual units laid in patterns: The garden path was lined with irregular paving stones.

Also called a paver.
