pasquinade
Satirical posted attack
A pasquinade is a satirical piece of writing that mocks or ridicules someone, typically posted publicly.
The form originated in 16th-century Rome, where anonymous lampoons were attached to a statue nicknamed Pasquino.
The word now applies to any sharp, public satire targeting a specific person or institution: The editorial was a vicious pasquinade against the mayor.
