palmtops
Tiny portable computers
Palmtops are handheld computers small enough to fit in a palm, popular in the 1990s before smartphones absorbed their functions.
The term distinguished them from laptops and desktops by emphasizing their compact size: She kept her schedule on a palmtop.
Now largely obsolete as a category.
