palmleaf

Fan-shaped tropical blade

A palmleaf is a leaf from a palm tree, or material made from such leaves.

Palm leaves have long been used for thatching roofs, weaving baskets and fans, and as writing surfaces in South and Southeast Asia.

Manuscripts written on dried palm leaves are called palmleaf manuscripts: ancient Buddhist texts preserved on palmleaf.
