own
Hold the deed
Own functions as an adjective, verb, or pronoun.
Its work as a verb is straightforward: it is a synonym of have and possess when the object is a tangible or real thing: We own a cabin in the mountains.
When the verb own is followed by a clause it means to admit or believe that the clause is true: He owns that he was never at the site.
As an adjective or pronoun, own emphasizes the idea of possession, association, or ownership: Everyone arrived in their own car. Do you have a room of your own at home? She bought it with her own money.
