oval window
Stirrup's vibration target
The oval window is a membrane-covered opening between the middle ear and inner ear.
Sound vibrations pass through the eardrum to the small bones of the middle ear, which transmit them to the oval window, setting the fluid of the cochlea in motion.
This tiny structure is essential to hearing.
