ortho
Prefix meaning correct
Ortho is an informal clipping of several longer words beginning with that prefix.
In medicine and casual speech, ortho usually means orthopedics or an orthopedist: My ortho says I need knee surgery.
In dentistry, it's short for orthodontics or orthodontist.
In photography and chemistry, ortho refers to orthochromatic film or ortho-substituted compounds.
