nonpersons
Those officially invisible
Nonpersons are individuals treated as if they don't exist or don't matter—stripped of recognition, rights, or humanity.
The term appears in political contexts where regimes erase enemies from official history: Stalin's purges created nonpersons whose names vanished from photographs and records.
More broadly, it describes anyone systematically denied personhood or dignity: Refugees became nonpersons, invisible to the bureaucracy.
