noninterventionism
Hands-off foreign policy
Noninterventionism is the policy or principle of avoiding interference in other nations' affairs, especially military involvement in foreign conflicts.
It differs from isolationism in that it permits diplomatic and economic engagement while opposing armed intervention: The senator's noninterventionism made her skeptical of the proposed military action.
The stance has deep roots in American political thought.
