nonbreathing
Lacking air intake
Nonbreathing describes something that does not breathe or is not capable of breathing.
In medical contexts, it often describes a patient who has stopped breathing: The paramedics found the victim nonbreathing and unresponsive.
It also appears in equipment terminology—a nonbreathing mask delivers oxygen without allowing exhaled air to mix back in.
