non-Jewish
Outside the tribe
Non-Jewish describes anyone or anything not belonging to the Jewish people, religion, or culture.
It functions as a neutral demographic or religious classifier, appearing in contexts like interfaith marriage discussions, historical accounts, or religious law: The synagogue welcomes non-Jewish guests at services.
In Jewish religious contexts, the term *goy* (plural *goyim*) serves a similar purpose, though non-Jewish remains the more formal and universally understood designation.
