Nativity stories are accounts of the birth of Jesus Christ, drawn primarily from the Gospels of Matthew and Luke.
These narratives include familiar elements: the manger in Bethlehem, shepherds, wise men, the star, Mary and Joseph.
By extension, nativity stories can refer to any account of someone's birth or origins: Every family has its own nativity story.
