nabe
Slang for neighborhood
Nabe is informal American slang for neighborhood, particularly one's own local area.
It often carries a sense of familiarity and affection for the immediate surroundings where someone lives or hangs out.
There's a great new coffee shop in the nabe.
The term was also once used to refer to a neighborhood movie theater, back when such theaters were common fixtures of urban life.
