coming attractions
Upcoming movie previews
Coming attractions are previews of upcoming films shown before the main feature at a movie theater.
The term dates from an era when theaters routinely showed trailers, newsreels, and shorts before the feature presentation.
It extends figuratively to any preview of future events or offerings: Let me give you a glimpse of coming attractions for next quarter's product lineup.
