monocline
One-sided rock fold
A monocline is a geological formation where rock layers bend in a single direction, creating a step-like fold.
Unlike anticlines and synclines, which fold symmetrically, monoclines have strata that dip in one direction before leveling out again: The monocline created a dramatic ridge across the desert landscape.
