mochila
Bag with straps
Mochila is the Spanish word for backpack or knapsack, used in English primarily in historical contexts describing the leather covering that fit over a saddle, particularly those used by Pony Express riders.
The mochila had pouches (cantinas) for carrying mail and could be quickly transferred between horses at relay stations.
