miter-joint
Frame corner connection
A miter joint is a corner joint formed by cutting two pieces at matching angles—typically 45 degrees each—so they meet to form a 90-degree corner.
Common in picture frames, door casings, and molding: The carpenter cut a miter joint for the baseboard corner.
Also spelled mitre joint.
