zoom levels
Map detail tiers
Zoom levels are the increments of magnification available in digital maps, image viewers, or similar interfaces.
Each level represents a step closer to or farther from the content: zooming in reveals more detail, zooming out shows more area.
At higher zoom levels, you can see individual buildings.
The term is most common in mapping applications, where zoom level 0 might show the entire world and level 20 might show a single intersection.
