military tribunal
Armed forces court
A military tribunal is a court composed of military personnel that tries cases under military law, typically involving service members accused of violations or enemy combatants during wartime.
Unlike civilian courts, tribunals often operate with different procedural rules and fewer protections for the accused.
The detainees were tried before a military tribunal rather than in federal court.
