military drill
Troops rehearsing movements
Military drill is the formal, repetitive practice of movements and procedures performed in unison by soldiers or other uniformed groups.
Troops learn to march, turn, present arms, and respond to commands through drill, developing discipline and coordination.
The term extends to any rigorous, repetitive training exercise: The coach ran the team through drills until they could execute the play flawlessly.
