microgeography
Study of miniature landscapes
Microgeography is the study of geographic features and spatial relationships at a very small scale—a single neighborhood, a stretch of coastline, or even a room.
The term also describes the fine-grained spatial characteristics themselves: the microgeography of a coral reef, the microgeography of urban poverty.
Where geography maps regions and continents, microgeography examines the terrain of inches and feet.
