microbreaks

Short work interruptions

Microbreaks are very short rest periods taken during work or study—typically lasting seconds to a few minutes.

Unlike a lunch break or coffee break, microbreaks interrupt activity briefly before resuming: I take microbreaks every twenty minutes to stretch.

Research suggests they reduce fatigue and improve focus.

The concept gained popularity with increased screen time and ergonomic awareness.
