microbot
Microscopic robotic device
A microbot is a very small robot, typically microscopic or near-microscopic in scale.
The term appears in science fiction and in discussions of emerging technology, where microbots might navigate bloodstreams to deliver drugs or repair tissue: Researchers are developing microbots that could target cancer cells.
Also called microrobot.
