mental health day
Stress recovery break
A mental health day is a day off from work or school taken to recover from stress, prevent burnout, or attend to emotional wellbeing rather than physical illness.
The term gained currency as attitudes toward mental health shifted: I'm not sick, I just need a mental health day.
Sometimes used loosely to mean any personal day taken for rest or self-care.
