destress
Release built-up tension
Destress means to relax or reduce tension after a period of strain: I need to destress after this week.
The word is relatively recent, formed by adding the prefix de- to stress.
It often appears with activities meant to calm: yoga to destress, destress with a bath.
Also spelled de-stress.
