malnutrition
Poor diet consequences
Malnutrition is a condition resulting from inadequate or unbalanced nutrition.
It covers both undernutrition—not getting enough food or essential nutrients—and overnutrition from excess calories or particular nutrients.
The term appears most often in contexts of poverty and famine, though clinical malnutrition can occur in hospitals or among the elderly: The refugee camp faced widespread malnutrition.
