log-normal
Exponentially transformed Gaussian
Log-normal describes a probability distribution where the logarithm of the variable follows a normal (bell curve) distribution.
Values in a log-normal distribution are always positive and skewed right, with a long tail of high values.
Many natural phenomena follow this pattern: incomes, stock prices, particle sizes, and biological measurements.
The data showed a log-normal distribution, so we applied a log transformation before analysis.
