livered
Possessing that organ
Livered means having a liver, almost always with a qualifying word.
Someone who is lily-livered or white-livered is cowardly—the pale liver supposedly indicating a lack of blood and therefore courage.
A yellow-livered person is similarly timid.
The word rarely appears without such compounds.
