lindy-hop

Harlem ballroom style

The lindy hop is a partner dance that emerged from Black communities in 1920s Harlem, characterized by its energetic, improvisational style and syncopated footwork.

It developed alongside swing jazz and remains the foundation of swing dancing.

Partners alternate between closed position and breakaway moves: They lindy-hopped until the band stopped playing.
