Lawyer's writing tablet
A legal pad is a pad of lined yellow paper, typically 8.5 by 14 inches, bound at the top with a strip of adhesive.
The pages have a vertical red margin line on the left.
Despite the name, legal pads are used for all kinds of note-taking, not just legal work: She grabbed a legal pad and started brainstorming.
The yellow color and larger size distinguish them from standard notepads.
