leasing
Renting, not buying
Leasing is renting property or equipment under a contract for a specified period.
A business might lease office space or vehicles rather than buy them.
The one who leases out is the lessor; the one who leases is the lessee.
We're leasing a car for three years.
The term covers both sides of the transaction—you can lease something you own to others, or lease something from an owner.
