lead solder
Plumber's metal filler
Lead solder is an alloy of lead and tin used to join metal surfaces, traditionally in plumbing and electronics.
The lead lowers the melting point, making the material easier to work with.
Health concerns have largely phased out lead solder in plumbing and many consumer products, replaced by lead-free alternatives: The old pipes were joined with lead solder.
