landing pads
Where aircraft settle
Landing pads are designated areas where aircraft—especially helicopters and spacecraft—touch down.
A helicopter landing pad (helipad) is typically a flat, marked surface on rooftops, hospitals, or open ground.
In space exploration, landing pads are reinforced platforms for rockets and landers.
The term extends to video games and science fiction, where characters respawn or vehicles dock at designated landing pads.
