kingdom of God
Heaven's spiritual dominion
The kingdom of God is a central concept in Christian theology, referring to God's sovereign rule and reign over creation.
In the Gospels, Jesus speaks of the kingdom as both a present spiritual reality and a future hope: The kingdom of God is at hand.
It represents the domain where God's will is done—sometimes understood as heaven, sometimes as the transformed life of believers, sometimes as a coming age of justice and peace.
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of God.
