kickplate

Bottom door shield

A kickplate is a protective metal or plastic panel attached to the bottom of a door, shielding the surface from scuffs and damage caused by feet, shoes, or wheeled carts.

Common on commercial doors and in high-traffic areas: The brass kickplate was dented from years of deliveries.

Also called a kick plate.
