judgment seat
Where verdicts happen
A judgment seat is a chair or bench where a judge or authority sits to render verdicts.
The term appears most often in religious contexts, referring to the place where God or Christ judges souls: We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ.
More broadly, it can mean any position from which judgments are made: She spoke as if from a judgment seat.
