jet boats

Impeller-driven fast boats

Jet boats are watercraft propelled by a jet of water expelled from the stern rather than by an external propeller.

An internal impeller draws water in and forces it out at high pressure, providing thrust.

This design allows jet boats to operate in shallow water where propellers would strike bottom, making them popular for river running and water sports.

We took the jet boat through the canyon rapids.
