circuit racing

Circuit racing is motorsport competition on closed courses where vehicles complete multiple laps around the same track.

The circuit may be purpose-built like a speedway or use public roads temporarily closed for the event.

Distinguished from point-to-point racing like rallying, circuit racing allows spectators to watch the entire course: Formula 1 circuit racing draws millions of viewers worldwide.
