infuser
Herb steeping basket
An infuser is a device that allows one substance to steep in another while keeping them partially separated.
The most common type is a tea infuser—a small perforated container that holds loose tea leaves while they release flavor into hot water.
Kitchen infusers work similarly for herbs and spices in broths or oils.
The term also applies to devices that carbonate water or add flavors to beverages.
