horn shark

Spiny Pacific bottom-dweller

A horn shark is a small shark native to Pacific coastal waters, named for the spine-like projections in front of each dorsal fin.

Horn sharks are bottom-dwellers with blunt heads and crushing teeth adapted for eating sea urchins and mollusks.

They rarely exceed four feet in length and pose no threat to humans.
