Harpo Marx
Harpo Marx was one of the Marx Brothers, the American comedy team that dominated stage and film comedy in the 1920s through 1940s.
Born Adolph Marx, he played a mute, curly-wigged character who communicated through pantomime, honking a horn, and playing the harp—from which his stage name derived.
His silent, anarchic persona contrasted with Groucho's verbal wit.
He pulled a Harpo suggests wordless mischief or impish behavior.
