GTE

Defunct telecom company

GTE stands for "greater than or equal to," the mathematical relation symbolized by ≥.

In programming and spreadsheets, GTE appears as a comparison operator, often written as >= since keyboards lack the ≥ symbol: The function returns true if the value is GTE 100.

GTE was also a major American telecommunications company until its 2000 merger with Bell Atlantic to form Verizon.
