hanging around
Killing time somewhere
Hanging around means spending time in a place without any particular purpose, often idly or while waiting: We were just hanging around the mall.
It can also mean staying near someone, sometimes with a suggestion of unwanted presence: Why is he always hanging around?
To hang around with someone is to spend casual time together.
