Weapon hold covers
Handguards are protective covers on firearms that shield the shooter's hand from heat generated by the barrel during firing.
They wrap around the barrel or forend of rifles and shotguns: He upgraded to a free-floating handguard for better accuracy.
The term also applies to protective guards on swords, knives, and power tools that prevent the hand from slipping onto the blade or dangerous parts.
